Plensa's "Water's Soul" is his second major permanent installation in the New York metropolitan area, following the 2018 unveiling of "Voices" at 30 Hudson Yards.
A dedication ceremony for "Water's Soul" is set for the third week of October 2021, after which the landscaped pathway will be open to the public year-round.
The pier's walkway, designed by Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, seamlessly connects to Newport's existing mile-long Hudson River waterfront promenade.
