🧠 Fun fact

The Observation Towers were built for the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair, and they are part of the New York State Pavilion designed by architect Philip Johnson. The towers were meant to provide fairgoers with panoramic views of the fairgrounds and New York City.

The towers have appeared in several films and TV shows, most notably in “Men in Black” (1997), where they were depicted as alien spaceships.

The final act of the movie takes place in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park during the 1964 New York World's Fair. The park, once a city dumping site turned into a spectacle for the World's Fair, features the iconic Unisphere.

Fans can visit the remnants of the New York State Pavilion, the Unisphere, and the saucer-topped Observation Towers to relive the movie's climax. The Unisphere's recent $3 million makeover adds to the attraction, making it a must-see for Men In Black enthusiasts.
