🧠 Fun fact

The Léopold-Sédar-Senghor Footbridge, also known as the Passerelle Solférino, is a pedestrian bridge in Paris that connects the Musée d’Orsay and the Tuileries Garden. One fun fact about this bridge is that it’s a popular spot for lovers to attach “love locks” as a symbol of their affection. This tradition became so popular that the weight of the locks posed a structural risk, leading to their removal in 2015. Now, the bridge is free of locks, but it remains a romantic spot with stunning views of the Seine River and the Parisian skyline.

Once Philippe’s wheelchair has been modified to reach a top speed of 12 km/h, Driss and his employer will try out this new configuration on this bridge. The effects are visible since they go beyond segways. Is this voluntary?

Still, the bridge is named after the poet, writer and former president of the Republic of Senegal, the country from which Driss comes from, as well as Omar Sy’s father.
