Lacock Abbey

Lacock Abbey, located in Wiltshire, England, is not only a picturesque historical site but also the birthplace of photography. In 1835, William Henry Fox Talbot, one of the pioneers of photography, captured the first known photographic negative at Lacock Abbey. He took a photograph of a small window in the abbey’s south gallery, creating a fundamental piece in the history of photography. The abbey itself, with its medieval architecture and beautiful surroundings, has also been featured in various films and television series, including the “Harry Potter” series and “Downton Abbey.”
