Eyes on the Street

The sculptures are arranged in close proximity, engaging with and reflecting one another. Each sculpture features a void shaped like an eye, emphasizing its significance.

The artists drew inspiration from renowned city planner Jane Jacobs, who emphasized the importance of constant vigilance in urban environments. She famously stated, "There must be eyes upon the street, eyes belonging to those we might call the natural proprietors of the street."

Jacobs referred to the watchful eyes of numerous residents in densely populated areas, who continuously observe and record the life and activities on the street and within their surroundings.
